Error Message:
Retrieving the COM class factory with component with CLSID failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered
Solution:

The issue is related to an incorrectly registered SSIS module, SQLTaskConnections.dll.

To resolve the issue, locate SQLTaskConnections.dll in your SSIS installation directory and register the module manually.

For example, for Visual Studio 2022 Professional with SQL Server 2022 Target Version, the file is located at:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\2022\Professional\Common7\IDE\CommonExtensions\Microsoft\SSIS\160\Binn\SQLTaskConnections.dll

Open Command Prompt as Administrator, navigate to the folder containing SQLTaskConnections.dll, and run:

RegSvr32 SQLTaskConnections.dll

The SSIS folder number corresponds to the SQL Server version:

  • SQL Server 2017: SSIS\140\Binn

  • SQL Server 2019: SSIS\150\Binn

  • SQL Server 2022: SSIS\160\Binn

The exact path may vary depending on the Visual Studio edition installed (Community, Professional, or Enterprise).

InfoYou should find where the file SQLTaskConnections.dll is located on your system and run the command from there.
