Error Message: Unable to retrieve digital product id


Action:
When opening the SSIS+ License Application, you receive the following error.

Error Message:
‘Unable to retrieve digital product id’ 

Solution:

Make sure the SQL Server registry key for SSIS is present for the version of SQL Server you are using. If it is not present, your SQL Server is not properly licensed or your SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) engine/framework is not installed. To resolve this error, get a valid SQL Server license or correct your SQL Server Integration Services installation so that the SSIS framework/engine is present. The registry key from the chart is associated, specifically, with the SSIS framework/engine.
 
Note that the installation of SSDT has nothing to do with the installation of SSIS. SSDT provides the tools to create SSIS packages, but does not install SSIS. The SSIS installation is associated with installation options set when SQL Server is installed.

Note: You will also receive the above error message if you open the incorrect version of the SSIS+ License Application for the wrong SQL Server.
